Central air unit fan not working properly..
I have been having problems with my central air. I replaced both the capacitor and contactor. Cleaned the coil, put a new filter and it started working fine for about a week. Then a couple of days ago, it stop working again. It blows air through the vents, but not cool. Also, the fan isn't spinning properly. Its spinning slower than its supposed to and turns off. Im so frustrated with this already. Any suggestions on what it could be?? Fan motor?? How do I check it?? HELP!! Lol

Do you have a multitester to test the fan motor with? If it is slowing down and turns off then I'll betcha it IS the fan motor after all since you changed out the other components in the machine.

Hey guys!! I have some very helpful info!! If ur looking for replacement parts for your central ac, before u buy anything compare your prices to emotorstore.com i need a new fan on my ac and went to my local store and it would have been $160 plus i would have to buy a new capacitor to match it. I went oline found this website and called to ask a couple of ?'s and they were awesome!! A fan for my ac would be $57.99!! Wow!! I priced the capacitor as well. At my local parts store a capacitor was $45.99 with emotor it was $27.99!! With shipping for both came out to $100!! Though id share this with u guys. If u want to talk to a rep the # is 800-668-6763 ask for joanne. Also, its beter to have ur model #,rpm, volts. She was very helpful and new what she was talking about.
