    Wrapping required to the pvc pipe contact with concrete
    Should all pvc pipes/ non-metallic pipes required wrapping when they are embedded in retaining/ concrete wall

    In my area of operation we have to wrap all pipes penetrating concrete with approved foam wrap tape. That will give pipe a bit of room to move during seismic activity or house settlement in general...

    We don't have a lot of "seismic activity" here on the Gulf Coast so the only stubups we wrap aree "closet collars" around toilet stub-ups, and then so we can install a flange on the pipe. However we sleeve our pipes running through the foundation. Unless they're built up with a crawl space all of our hones are built on slabs. Cheers, Tom
