I'm not sure if I have a case to pursue this, so before I potentially waste my time, I thought I'd ask...
My boyfriend lived for over 2 years in a singlewide owned by his aunt. She had moved out of state and told him that he and his brother could live there as long as they paid the monthly lot payment. His brother moved over a year ago, so it was just him and whatever roommate he had at the time. Earlier this year she moved back into the state, and told my boyfriend he needed to move out. He did, but didn't move all of his things out right away. His uncle told him that was fine as long as they were left in a certain room. We did, and about a month later, when we had a truck to get the items, we went back to get the stuff.

The only things left in the trailer were the things of little monetary value.
All of the things I had there leftover from my baby were gone- a changing table, bassinette, crib, hundreds of items of baby clothes and maternity clothes, baby blankets. When we went over to his grandmothers house, where his aunt is living now, his grandmother told us they had thrown it out.

My boss at work is their neighbor. Last time I worked with her she came up to me and commented that she saw that my boyfriend's grandmother had sold my baby items at her yard sale a couple weeks ago.

Would I even have a chance at winning if I sued them in small claims court? Is it worth my effort?

What would be the best way to go about determining how much these items are worth? How should I get proof? Obviously since the majority of them were gifts and used, I only plan to ask for secondhand replacement prices. Should I go to secondhand stores in the area and price comparable items?
And the ones I am really struggling with are the horse items that they took. 2 of them were new, but I don't have the reciepts for them, and I bought them over a year and a half ago. I've priced them at the tack store I bought them from and they are $50 each... I don't know if a judge would award me that for them though because I don't have proof of what I paid. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

You are asking for repacement cost. So what you paid for them is only one way of proving value. What others would pay for similar items, or what the tack store is asking, is just as good.

If you don't have receipts but can testify as to your memory of what you paid, that is evidence too, although not possibly as reliable as the receipts. On the other hand, receipts of purchases made several years ago are, one might argue, not as reliable as present shop values.
