Some women tend to bleed for quite a while when coming off the Depo shot. This is not uncommon.

Now, most likely the reason your doc wants to put you on the birth control pill is to possibly stop and regulate your period before starting the Clomid treatment. Your best bet would be to call and ask her what her reasoning his here.

Thank you so much for responding to my questions. My perios have never been regular that is why she put me on the depo shot. I am just scaried me getting on birth control is going to make it really hard for me to get pregnant. She said that once my period came down again to start to take the clomid but my period has never stopped yet since 12-28. It is not really heavy I guess it is like spotting. Gosh all this is so confusing

    Thanks Again!

I have no idea why she would put you on depo, if she wanted to regulate your periods. That doesn't make any sense to me, as depo actually stops you from having a period at all. Or in some cases, (like me) causes you to have spotting all the time, and really long periods. I would be on my period for weeks at a time. I think I even bled for 18 days in a row at one point, then stopped for 6 days, and started again. I won't go into all the side effects, and how much I hate that shot haha. But the bleeding is not at all uncommon for the depo shot. And don't be surprised if it takes up to 18 months after you stop taking it to get pregnant. As far as her putting you on the pill, that makes more sense then the depo, as that tends to regulate your period. But it only regulates it while you are on the pill. Once you are off, it will go back to irregular. I don't know much about clomid. I'm a little surprised that she is putting you on it so soon, as I thought most doctors made you wait one year of trying naturally, before they stepped it up to hormonal treatment. (correct me if I am wrong guys)

Typically they do make you wait a year or longer before trying something like Clomid, but there may be other factors such as hormone levels and the irregularity that only her doctor knows of.

I don't know if my quick reply worked but in case it did I don't want to re-tell my story. Please look into POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME. I didn't have it before I stopped Depo after 8 years & have struggled w/the syndrome for 5 years.
