I was offered a job with General Electric in Paris, France (Engineering). I was there for two days for the interview and never got to see much of the city. My first impression was great but how can I find out more about the cultural, demographic, social aspect of this French City? Is there any way I can measure if Im suitable to adjust to a different type of lifestyle? Im a 35 year old male who grew up in manhattan,NYC never went abroad except to Puerto Vallarta Mexico back when I was 21.

Wow, what a great opportunity! Paris is a very special and wonderful city.

If you do a Google search for expat americans in Paris it brings up some message boards of other people in the same situation as yourself.

I lived overseas before myself. It's something that is most surely a growing experience and you can always say that you did it.

I think you'll be fine! If you're from NYC anyway you're already adjusted to dealing with many people from all walks of life. I say just go for it!
