My daughter Receives Her Father's SSI Benefits
My question is this: How come Social Security gives benefits to children if the money does not come out of the persons check? The money is not touched at all. So these men can father children and not having to worry about child support because these children will receive benefits from social security? Something don't seem right. I did get child support but it has been lowered to $25 a month, which is a crock when he doesn't technically pay a cent. Or pay medical for this child. His rent alone is less then $100 he gets over a $1200 a month and he has three other kids who he supports even though they are grown. As in paying for their cell phone bill etc...
What can I do about this? As I do receive money for m child but it makes me angry because he does not pay anything out of his pocket for his 8 month old child.

Does he receive SS Disability or SSI? Big difference?

If he receives SSDisability then you can take the child's ID down to the Social Security office and sign YOUR child up to get their OWN SSD check that the government hands out each month to the CHILDREN of those on disability.

You'll probably have to get him to comply with proving the child is his as well but in any case go down to the SS Office ASAP and find out where you fill out what form and start collecting for your kid.

Isn't that wonderful that the kids of folks on disability can get their OWN checks just for being born to a person collecting disability? Only in America, only in America.

So let me get this straight - you do receive monetary compensation for the child you share with this man whom you chose to have sex with, but you're mad because it's not "his" money?

You can feel free to forward me the check you get. My three kids could definitely benefit from "not your ex's" money.

If you're that upset about it, start writing to your politicians to get the laws changed.
