    Separated and looking for answers
    I have been separated from my husband for 5 months...
    An I receive court ordered child support... I want to know what rights do I have in refence to division of property and assets... since my husband's name is not on our deed for our home and he's looking to purchase him a home in his own name... :cool:

    It's not quite as simple as that. Lots of factors go into those decisions. You need to hire a family attorney.

    This is subject to negotiation. That's where your atty comes in. You can also try using a Divorce mediation service if one is in your area.

    In divorce, child custody, child support, everything is almost always maybe and it will depend.

    You need an attorney, you need to file for divorce, file for what property you want, file for custody of the child (children) and file for child support.

    Then he counters with what he wants, and from there you work things out.

    If you have the children now, and are not getting child support you file for an order of support
