    A gift for him
Hi My bofriend will be leaving soon to australia for a conference. He won't be gone for long, he'll be away for about 2 weeks. He is researching oesophegal cancer and will be presenting there amongst other students. I want to get him something that both presents that I'll miss him a lot, but also that I'm very proud of him. He is the type of guy that would appreciate something that he can use, but I'm blank for ideas... please help

What about a pen set--engraved stating " Im proud of you". With your initials. If he is doing research, he will need something to write with, and I have noticed over years that guys that have a special pen and very aware of not letting someone keep it!!

Something that he could use for the trip. Engraving is a bonus!

Another idea, but cheesier, is to buy something that is split in two halves (kinda of like friendship necklaces/rings). You each keep a half, so when you see each other, you can put them back together. Furthermore, you can use this every time you're apart.
