    I'm getting a holland lop eared rabbit, can I keep it in my garage?
    I am getting a holland lop eared rabbit, and I was wondering if I can keep it in my garage. I was also wondering how big the cage needs to be because my dad is going to build it. My garage is always closed when I'm not outside so no need to worry about predators. I would play with it daily and buy a harness (iv seen people walk their rabbits before) and walk it a lot.

    Are there cars parked in the garage? That would be my main concern. If the garage is empty, except for the rabbit, and he cannot escape or get into trouble, than a cage in the garage is fine.

    If cars are parked in the garage, than it's not a good idea. Starting the cars, pulling in or out of the garage, the carbon monoxide will eventually make bunny very sick, or kill him.

    Do you have the money to spay or neuter this rabbit? Have you done research on keeping a rabbit? They aren't easy pets. They require a lot of work, and dedication. If they're not spayed or neutered their health will suffer and they will be more aggressive, the males will spray.

    Also take a look at this link, the information on this site is the best out there;

    Do your research before you get your rabbit. Realize that a lop eared will cost between $60-$300 at a pet store, and the pet store employees don't know anything about rabbit care. The spaying or neutering (which is not an option, it's a must) will cost between $60 - $400, depending on where you live. Rabbits are considered exotic pets and not all vets know how to care for them, or spay or neuter them, so make sure you have a rabbit vet in your area before purchasing your rabbit.

    Read the links. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them. :)

    Well I guess I won't keep it in my garage because I do have one car parked in it. Can I keep it in my room? And the rabbit I am getting is already spayed. And its very cheap.

    Sure, your room is fine.

    Where are you getting the rabbit that it's already spayed, the humane society?

    Make sure you get documentation saying that the rabbit is in fact spayed. An unspayed female has a life expectancy of around 3-5 years. A spayed female can live up to 12 years. Big difference. Also, bunny will be easier to handle if it's spayed.
