    Household circuit dead
My son plug a vacuum cleaner that had a short. The electrical
Breaker tripped, will not reset keeps snapping back. Do you think the
Breaker is bad, or are the wires in that particular circuit cooked?

On the circuit how do you know which outlet is first in line and which
Last. I guess the breakers keeps the circuits separated from one another
Circuit in question has six outlets all dead

Breaker tripped? Did you unplug the vacuum before retrying the breaker? Did you shut the breaker off completely before trying to reset it?

I'm sure you tried switching Breaker all the way OFF, then all the way back on?
If you can safely remove the wire from the Breaker, wire nut wire, If Breaker won't reset, It is bad.
    Good Luck.

Update: electrician said nothing wrong with breakers. The cause was many outlets improperly wired many going to ground.
