    Trane vs carrier
I live in Virginia Beach Va area. A single family home, 1750 sq. ft. Trying to decide between a carrier 2.5 tons, 15 sere, R-410, Digital Thermostatnot replacing lines, Air handleler $5,750. Vs. a Trane 2.5 tons, 15 sere, R410, Digital thermostat, 1 year maintenance $5950. For both unit, Use existing ductwork. Seal any leaks. Use existing refrigirant tubing. Tubing to be flush with R-410 kit. Units to be wire from the disconnects. Any takers.

Do not use the original tube!!! This can open the door for an excuse if a old part of the actual old sealed system is re-used PLUS the oils used in the old R-22 machine are VERY different than the oil that is now used in new style R-410A machine. They do not mix!!

The next part is real simple. DO NOT buy a new system by brand/price only. Buy the system from the company that will give you the best install. The most expensive equipment can be turned to junk by a bad install with poor work habits but cheaper equipment can run very well and last a long time with a good quality install. These are just the facts that I have seen 100's of times. Take a moment and read the attached material. Follow what it says to help prevent problems now or in the future.

A good installer will insist on replace all (lineset included), the new lineset doesn`t cost a whole lot more than the kit used to "so called" flush out the older lineset
