I totally understand. I went to a week-long church camp when I was 13 and had the same concerns. I managed okay, had to make sure I was wearing a new pad before strenuous activities. The swimming I did was in Lake Erie, so that worked out (no one could tell). If you will be in a pool and not a lake, I suggest you don't go swimming, especially if the flow is at its heavier time. You don't want to leave trails of blood behind you as you move around in the water.
Nowadays, there are all sorts of pads for light or heavy days or to cover more area, so take along what you think you will need.
You can't use tampons because of religious or physical or health reasons? That, of course, would be the perfect solution so you can participate in ALL the activities.
