My r22 heat pump unit is undersized for my house. It is a 2 ton and the builder should have installed a 2.5 ton. Do I have to replace the whole system, inside and out, if I upsize to a 2.5 ton or can I change out just the part that is the wrong size to cool the house? I can't really afford the cost...

I have a Goodman natural gas pac unit 13 seer , what should the pressure gauges be reading on the low side mine is currently running around 70 to 72 which reflects to 33 to 34 degree coil temp is this about right.

We need a new compressor but the contractor from my home warranty will only replace with 410. Which means that I have to replace my inside unit at the low, low price of $1750. Is this the right move or am I being done in?
