1989 honda civic fuel pump works off and on, no error messages shown
I checked the red error light for codes but there were none. My fuel pump will start occasionally, I have changed the main relay too. If I disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect it the pump will start. Do electric pumps sometimes stall and do I have to remove the tank to change it. 1989 honda civic si 1.6

Does the Check Engine Light come on for 2 seconds and then go out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II)? Or, does it stay on?
