Can you drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes while taking Neupogen (Filgrastim)?
I am a bone marrow donor and I just started taking Neupogen for the donation. I am a smoker and I do drink alcohol, but I wanted to know if they would have adverse affects on the outcome of the donation.

You should have been provided with an "FDA Sheet" along with your supply. That will list the contradindcations, side effects, etc. If not you can obtain that information by clicking on the following link:

filgrastim - Cancer Information (Cancers, Symptoms, Treatment) on MedicineNet.com

Another excellent resource is the supplying pharmacy. Pharmacists know the drugs inside and out. They are always happy to assist.

    Hope this helps.
