Can you take her back for a couple of weeks? She still needs her mother and litter mates. In a couple of weeks she will be much more interested in her new home and better adjusted to solid food.

If not, you could try softening it with a little with water. Do not give her cows' milk. Expect digestive upsets if you have suddenly changed from what the ''breeder'' was feeding. I say ''breeder'' because no responsible breeder would ever sell a 5 week old puppy.

She may just take a couple of days to adjust and start eating. If she is too fat like most puppies, a day or 2 without food won't hurt. See http://www.puppychow.com/products/po...condition.aspx In another thread tonight, I suggested I am a grinch when it comes to dogs that won't eat. Tempting them with rich food is a big mistake.

When is a puppy not a puppy anymore? [ 3 Answers ]

Our Lhasa is now 10 months old. As a puppy we have had food available pretty much at all times, but maybe he's getting past that now, and for his weight should maybe only be fed about a cup to a cup and a half of his dog meal a day. We have been using Wysong, by the way, and it seems to have a...
