    My basement outlets are 12
    My basement outlets are 12" from the ground, just wondering in case we were to get water if it would help to hasve GFI outlets that would trip off if we got a lot of water?

    Does you basement flood?

    If this is an unfinished are they should be GFI anyway.
    If this area is finished they do not need GFI protection.

    If this area is finished, and there is the danger of flooding, then finishing it was probably not a good idea.
