What is on my hamsters lip.
So, my hamster, Cheerio, I've had for awhile. He is a dwarf hamster. I noticed this little thing on his lip one day. I didn't think much of it. Then I looked at it the next day and it look like a tooth at first, but it was attatched to his lip. It looks kind of like wood or bark. It's light brown at the bottom and reddish at the top. It looks like it's starting to crack at the bottom. It doesn't seem to bother him, but I want to know what it is. Please help.

This is a question about a pet, not a person, and I have asked that it be moved to the pet section.

It very well could be a tooth.
Hamsters teeth grow continuously. If they aren't given the proper tools to grind their teeth down naturally, the tooth can grow throw the lip, or worse. This can affect their eating, and their overall health.
Best to take your hamster to the vet, just to have a look at it. If it is a tooth, then surgery may be needed if it's adhered to the lip.
If it is a tooth and nothing is done, sadly your hammy doesn't have much of a fighting chance. It will get worse before it gets better.
Of course this is just a guess. I can't be sure that it is indeed a tooth, seeing as I haven't seen the hamster. The vet will be able to tell you what's going on.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

It looks really nasty. It hangs down longer then his face so, and I have this big wooden thing in his cage that he chews on.

Well, my parents keep saying it might be from where I spray my hairspray and perfume and stuff that he could be getting an allergic reaction to it.

The only one that can make an accurate diagnosis is a vet.
