I have been paying support for 10 years. I got behind on child support payments in 09. I am now on a different payment plan and should be caught up in the next 2 months. My ex tells me that I owe her 2 checks from 06. Where was she in 06 ? How far back can she go. Need answers in NY

She can go back to the date of the original Order. I have no idea where she was in 2006 - maybe she thought because you were in arrears that mentioning it would be beating a dead horse.

Prove you paid her everything you owe her, month by month, and that will be the end of it.

    And I'm in NY.

If you owe it, you owe it, did you miss payments then ?

But yes from the first day of the child support order, she can go back for every penny that is behind. So she could go back to 10 years when it all started if you were ever behind and did not make a payment
