Hello all, this is quite an embarrassing thing to ask, I'm 20 years old and have a small hard lump about half an inch above the base of my penis, I was wondering what this is, I've read a lot of the questions but these all refer to on the penis shaft or head or foreskin. I thought it might be an inflamed hair follicle because that is the most common response, but I don't think that it should be hard... I've only noticed it 2 days ago, any help?

This bump could be a pimple. That would get hard and is common. When you sweat all that dirt and the dead skin cells get into the hair follicle and you get a nasty bump.
