    Why would a business want to keep a separate account for recording sales of service f
    I am trying to explain why a company would want to have a separate account for recording sales of service and the sales of goods. Or is it better to have them as one account?

    Because the transactions will be for 2 different things. One for sale of merchandise and the other for service.
