    Lifting detainer
My boyfriend got arrested for probation violation. He went to jail on a detainer from his probation office. When he went to court the judge gave him the OK to be released but he had to see if the probation officer would lift the detainer. But he didn't. Why? Is there another way of going about getting it lifted.. the d.a. paying for it, etc. thanks!

    Hello j:

I suspect what happened is that the judge gave him bail, as he must at an arraignment. But, the PO is holding him for a violation hearing that's going to happen in a couple weeks. There's NOTHING you can do but wait for the hearing. If the violation isn't serious, they'll probably let him out then.

A friend of mine went to court for unlawful detainer. The case was dismissed. Does that mean if he tries to get another place it may possibly show up.
