Problems with AC on Dodge 3500
I have a 2001 3500 5.9 L. I am having problems with the AC. It started blowing the 10 amp AC clutch fuse. I had a friend that wired a 20 amp breaker fuse in the 10 amp fuse place. It worked fine for over a year. Then it stopped working. I replaced the 20 amp breaker fuse with a new one, it then kicked the AC clutch in and then in the fuse box under the hood smoked a little, I took the box apart and repaired the wires that is burnt in to. I am not getting fire to the AC compressor at all. I can hook it up direct to the battery and it works fine. My question is what could cause it not have fire going to it? And how can I fix it, and if I can't fix it can I run me a wire from the compressor to a switch and to the battery and it work. I did that and checked the freon level and charged it it gets cool but seems it is not getting as cold as it did. Any information would help.
