    Weight gain for dogs
Our two year old pit (Hallie) just had puppies on June 9, and since then she has been losing a lot of weight. Any suggestions on how to fatten her up. Her ribs and bones are showing. I took her to a Vet and all they said was continue feeding, no recommendations. Any suggestion and/or recommendations.

I am assuming she was de-wormed and de-flead?

Are you feeding her puppy chow now? What brand of food are you feeding her? Is she free fed or scheduled feedings? Are the pups starting to wean off her now?

What are you currently feeding her?

Until the puppies are fully weaned mum should be on a high quality puppy food. Regular food just won't cut it while her body is producing milk to feed the pups.
The better quality food that goes into her body, the better quality milk the pups will be getting.
Losing a bit of condition is normal for b*tches but too much can be dangerous for both mum and pups.

Oh sorry, I thought it was 9th July she has the pups, not June.

She should have put weight back on by now.
