    Can't cash paychecks...
I have been working for my employer for almost 8 yrs. Within the last yr and a half the company took a huge downturn. It is now only me and the owner. He is unable to meet my payroll so I can't cash my paychecks (there isn't enough money in the account to cover any of my checks). I have 3 signed checks and Friday is another payday. He chooses to pay things like his health ins and his credit card bills but not me. The job is convenient for me and I'm not sure I want to quit, but don't know what my rights are. To boot, he cut my hours from 40/wk to 27.5/wk (which is fine with me).

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Hello b:

Your job may be convenient for YOU, but it's FREE for him. I wouldn't work for free no matter HOW convenient it is. Sue him, and apply for unemployment.
