The girl I'm with has a history.
Hi I'm new by the way.
The girl I've been seeing for 2 months has somewhat of a history with men although she assures me she has grown up since then. Anyway my real question started to take root in my mind when I had a fight with her ex boyfriend on new years eve. This man being someone she had been with for 4 years previously. He has also stated to her he is in love with her. I assure you it was something he had started and I was just trying to protect myself. Anyway I caused this man some significant damage and although she says she still cares for me, she says she is confused as this man has started to call her again. She knows it was him that started the fight but something in her attitude towards me and a new "standoffish" ,even harsh behaviour makes me believe different.
Does my girlfriend still love this other man?

Probably.
I hate it when girls say that they're 'confused'. If she isn't avoiding an ex that's saying he loves her, then she probably still has feelings for him. But I'm sure that those two broke up for a reason. Getting back with an ex has never worked out for me.
You should definitely keep an eye out for potential new girlfriends. Waiting to see what happens maybe your only option here.

Ok first mature grown men don't fight, unless you are a police officer having to use force there is normally very little excuse for fighting,
If there is something not going well you and your girlfriend leave.
And the older you get the more history every girl will have and guess what the more history you will have.
Perhaps she though better of you than to get in a fight, or perhaps the fight brought back memoriers of the old boyfriend.
You need to talk to her about all of these issues

Yes, and I was young once myself, and I did a lot of those stupid things I tell you and others not to do. That is why often I and others can answer with such authority, we have been there.
So I am sure when I and others say things like you should not, we really mean you should not, but it also often means we have done it two and learned our lessons from it. Believe me, I have learned my lesson and enough for you and a couple others too.

Of course she still has strong feelings for this guy and the longer you are with her the more drama you will be in.

Does she love him? Not likely, but all the more reason to avoid the whirlwind she creates around herself.

Hey BJ, I'm happy for you in a way. You've only invested two months into this. It's not like this is going on after 2 years. I think your right, and she still has feelings for him. Being a woman she also loves drama so even though she doesn't approve of the fight, she approves of the drama she got and now she has two men fighting over her, which is even more drama. I'd suggest cutting your loses.
