Saving video files with extensions flv or swf...
I am using Windows XP and I am unable to save or locate the video files of a flv or swf file extension when viewed from my Internet Windows Explorer V8. When I operated my system using W98 I would be able to access those videos viewed from the Internet in the Windows Temporary Internet Folder and then save a selected file on another folder of my hard drive. But I am unable to find such temporary file access now that I am running Windows XP. If I have just failed to located the location, would someone please direct me? Thank you.

If there is no similar temporary folder under XP, is there a utility that would allow me to save those files I viewed on to my hard drive? I generally trust what I download from PCWorld but I have tried several and either I find them available only as a trial version or for my limited usage I feel the cost have been to excessive.

Type this is the Run command. Remember to change the 'username' below to your username.

    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Also depending on how saving the files, when saving if there is a dialog box that comes up asking to save, you can add the .flv to the end of the file being saved and should have option to choose where to save to.

If no option to save and save to, above should get you where you need to be, just look for the ones with no file extensions and then you can rename to add the .flv

If you already have a player to play .flv's, your set if not, VLC is freeware and can view flv

That did it for me! The other solutions given also would work but I was looking for a way to satisify my old Win98 mind set. Thank You.

Last week my memory stick shocked me when it could no longer display any file. It just looked clean. I captioned it with my name, but the name disappered, now it appears as Local Disk (E:). The capacity shows 499MB and surprisingly shows 494MB used space, suggesting files are still there. When...
