He treats me like a sister but loves me like something else. What does that mean?
I have liked / crushed / this person for over a year now. We met about two years ago but he lives in a different State and is older than me. We stay in contact but not daily. He mentioned to a family member of mine that he treats me like a sister but loves me like something else. What do you think a man means by that? And if it's positive should I try and admit to him how I feel?

You said he is older. How old are you and how old is he?
Also, you said he lives in another state, how far away is he?

I'm 18 , he is 25, and in two different states that couldn't be farther apart.

Well, regarding the comment he made to the family member... stuff like that I take with a grain of salt. Don't try guessing what he meant because the family member might have misunderstood it or is misquoting him. What would happen if you say something to him about that comment and he denies saying it? It would be embarrassing for you. So, until he says something directly to you about how he feels, I wouldn't mention it if I were in your shoes. BUT, when he says that to you, tell him how you feel.
BTW, long distance relationships like the one you are contemplating are really very difficult to maintain. But, if he has feelings for you and you both are willing to work on it, all you can do is see where it takes you.

I agree with your advice. Long distance relationships rarely work. Wait until you're a couple years older and if you're still curious or he hasn't told you.. then it's probably just something he said that was taken out of context:)

I have no idea what he means. If it's important, ask him.

I don't think you act on, or take seriously what others may say, unless you get it from the horses mouth.
