My cycle hasn't been very regular since jan this year... meaning, not at the same time each month and less blood loss. Normally I would get tender breasts before my period so it would be a good indicator they were on their way.
This month I had very slight bleeding, streaky pink colour for about 5 days... then a normal blood loss for about 3 days, and now for the last week I have been bleeding profusely ( 2-3 tampons at once and changing them every 4 hrs!) I am also clotting a lot and they are big chunks. The doctor said it would pass and I'm waiting for the blood result to check my hormones... I was told I could take a progesterone tablet but the side effects are bad apparently? At the moment I'm feeling tired and weak.
Could this be pre menopause? Im 41 yo, but I started my menstral cycle when I was 10 and most of my life have had period problems, cysts & the rest of it.

Please stop wearing tampons, at least for the time being.

You need to wear a pad. If you soak a pad in an hour or less, you need immediate medical attention.
