    Is a lease relevant.
    Is a lease still relevant 35 years later.the To minimise noise the lease says carpet on floor but I have found a wooden floor which is more noise resistant than carpet.

    Hello m:

    If your lease says you must have carpet, then you must have carpet - even after 35 years. However, there's nothing stopping you from calling your landlord and talking to him about the new flooring you found. That is, if he's still alive.
