New sink drain is one inch to the right and two inches in front of existing P trap drain pipe. Help

Hi Klclower...

What kind of sink.. kitchen or bathroom? Either way, if there is enough room to attach to the old tailpiece a quick fix may be to purchase a flexible accordian style tailpiece... see image. These are sold in 12" lengths (opened) and in 1.25" (bath) and 1.5" (kitchen) sizes.

Otherwise, you'll need to cut the pipe and move the trap forward. Your best bet here will be to transition from the present material to new PVC using a shielded clamp (see image). These clamps are pipe specific in that you can purchase a clamp that goes from copper to PVC, for example, in one clamp! Then buy some PVC pipe, primer, cement and a new PTRAP and a compression fitting of the correct size (1.25" or 1.5") and you can repipe pretty easily.

Let me know more about the pipes (copper, galvanized, PVC or ABS plastic, etc.) and whether this is a kitchen sink or a bath sink... OK?

As long as the sink tail pipe and the wall stub out are not directly in line with each other, in other words, if the tail pipe and stub out pipe will pass each other, then you can make it work.

If it won't work like A then extend trap arm and turn trap like B..
