I wouldn't say you weren't worth it. Not at all. If your boyfriend is willing to believe the rumors without even ASKING you about it, then HE wasn't worth it.

Hell I grew up with a bad reputation. I listened to heavy metal and punk rock, had a Chelsea, wore band t shirts, hung out with a unruly crowd, smoked cigarettes, drank beer, went to rowdy shows, had piercings and tattoo's and well for lack of better words "got around". Rumors don't bother me. Yea they suck, and it sucks even more when the people you love and trust believe them, but even as an adult almost in my 30's rumors still fly.

Normally rumors don't bug me, but I just can't believe I got dumped for one

And you know what Emop, after my teen years I got pregnant. At 23. My "friends" started a rumor that I left my baby on the bus, and that I was a terrible mother, that my kid was damned etc etc... well she's almost 3 and doing just fine. Haven't left her on the bus or anywhere else... yet... :p

Immature, jealousy, boredom, confusion, I don't know, honestly I was so upset when I heard that. But I just realized, they will never know what I have, they are miserable in their lives, and because I wasn't going down that path with them anymore, they wanted to ruin the one thing that brought me happiness.

Yea it sucks. You'll be okay. You're a strong girl. Give your heart time to heal. Things may change, and he may realize what a class A jerk he is being. And if not, than he wasn't worth it to begin with.
