    Parvo questions
My puppy has parvo right now and he's been in animal hospital for 2 days. My vet doesn't allow me to visit bobo(my puppy)but he told me bobo already stopped vomiting and he's doing good so far. And he never had any bloody vomit or poop. So the vet will offer bobo some water later and see what happens. I'm really worried about bobo and I don't know if he will get better later on or he will suddenly get worse? :( can anyone share their experience with me? (bobo is a 5 months golden retriever)

Parvo is a strange disease, it affects dogs in different ways. If the vomiting has stopped that is a good sign.
Given his age the odds are a little better than it would be for very young pups, at 5 months he has a better chance of fighting it off than an 8 week old.

I know it must be hard not being able to visit him but it really is for the best, Parvo is highly contagious and if you have any contact with other animals after having contact with him you could spread the illness.

As for personal experience, sorry I can't help there, I have never had the misfortune to experience it, I know a few people on here who have though so hopefully they can give you some first hand experience.

My moms dog had parvo when she was a pup. She had all her shots too! Her sister never got it. The pups were never allowed to be on the ground when we went out.

She pulled through it just fine. Like your pup, she was older. However we do have lasting effects. We can't change her food. She literally is sick for 3 days. You can literally hear her stomach gurgling from feet away. We've talked to the vet about it, and he relates it to her having parvo.

I hope your pup pulls through!

    Good luck

Sick puppy has Parvo... Questions... [ 2 Answers ]

Well my poor doggy for sure has Parvo and is in the hospital. I got the pet shop I bought him at to treat him. Apparently they are scared of the outbreak (and they didn't have him adequately vaccinated for a 12 week old puppy!) They were going to put him to sleep and refund my $250 for him...
