    Unknown illustrated children's book title
Hi All, I hope you can help me.

I read a book as a young child (I was 8-10 years old, so we're talking 20years ago). It was an illustrated children's book with only a few sentences per page, I'd say it was aimed at 5 -8 year olds.

It featured a young girl in a red dress or over coat wandering around a worn torn city (Russia or Poland) during world war two. There was a particular page I remember were the girl hid in the wreckage and watched a squad of Russian soldiers pass by with a tank.

I don't really remember the moral or point of the book but just remember being intrigued by the sheer detail of the illustrations which filled both pages with the text sitting on top.

My memories of this book are very vague but it would mean a lot to me to find it.

    Thanks, Ryan
