    Concrete floor underneath bath tub?
Is it necessary or safe to have (pour) a 4 inch concrete floor/bed before installing bath tub (5 ft tub; not Jacuzzi) on a 2nd floor bathroom? My contractor propose to do that. Thank you.

    Hi Richard...

Why is he proposing to do this? I mean, why 4" of concrete?

I set tubs in structolite...a light weight perlited gypsum product, but 4" of concrete sounds unnecessary and extremely heavy!~!

    Back to you...
