Bad odour, taste and fever after wisdom tooth removal
Hi
I had my wisdom tooth removed 5 days ago, I was still having pain and fever after 3 days of removal so I went to the doctor who gave me antibiotics but now I have bad taste in my throat and rotten smell in my nose sometimes it is hard to breath from it the right side(the wisdom tooth removed side). Its been 5 days now and I am still getting fever time to time and still on antibiotic (medicillin) the name could be in finnish lang as I live in finland, but still the fever is going on and I have to use tablets like paracetamol and pain killer sometimes since there is still some swelling but doctor didn't prescribed pracetamol
Is it safe to use it and how can I get rid of the fever, bad taste and odour. Help

Paracetamol is an anelgesic and can be used for pain and fever. You should be fine to take it with your antibiotic. Have you been rinsing with warm salt water? If not, then you should rinse gently a few times a day.

No I haven't , but will now, but my main problem is that since I have started taking antibiotics I have this flu like something stuck in my head and it makes a bad taste in my throat and an awful smell in my nose, if I bow down my head I couldn't bear the smell it increases, its so rotten like a gutter. Making my life hell, sometimes when I am able to drain it it is quite sticky too(the muscus)
Thanks for your reply help more

It sounds like you might possibly have a sinus infection. You should see your MD.

Really! U got me scared now, I am having no serious problems in breathing its just when I come from cold or out my nose and head feels a bit heavy but when I use like paracetamol or chicken soup and stuff it gets better
Are you sure it's a sinus, because never in my life before I had this problem and it all started after my dental removal!
I am worried now going to doctor tomorrow

I don't know for sure if it's a sinus problem, can't diagnose here. You say you have a bad taste in your throat and smell in your nose, I'm just guessing here.
Hopefully it's nothing at all but I'm glad you're going to see your doctor.

I had my wisdom teeth removed earlier this year and had a huge problem with bad odor. It was bad enough to wake me up several times at night and make me gag occasionally. I finally followed the advice that I found online to go buy an oral syringe, which I got free from a CVS pharmacist. I flushed the tooth socket out with water repetitively from different angles in my mouth. It was entirely disgusting how much rotting food was stuck in the socket. It took me about two days of periodic flushing to get it all out, and the odor disappeared.

OK - I had a Wisdom Tooth pulled - it was not impacted. It was full of decay under the last filling. I ended up with a "dry socket" in that tooth. Went back to my Oral Surgeon who put a "pac" in it - felt so much better. Had pac taken out - the hole is much better but the bridge in front of it...
