    Debt Judgement
Hi! I have not been living in Canada for 3 years but recently I received a call from a collection agency that I owe the bank 40K in 2006. Can they go after me? Can they do any legal actions? What sort of legal action? Stupid and terrified I have sent them my pay slip and note to pay $5K but I don't really have the money. Someone can answer my question. Thanks Rainbow

Where are you living now? What do you mean when you say you sent them a note to pay $5K? Did you sign a promissory note, or did you just send an informal note?

If they have a judgment they may be able to enforce it.

Actually - it was a letter but I did not put my signature on it. I send it to them by email. Here is the problem too because I requested a letter from them regarding my debt.

Ok... I'll try to sum this as best I can. A credit card company that I owed an original debt was given to a law firm to collect the debt. The firm claimed it was 3000 or so, and I received letters and then a judgement and so I paid a partial amount on the debt 6 months ago of 980. I didn't...
