    Put the cables on the battery wrong need help!!
    Hey I put the battery cables on the battery the wrong way not paying attention burnt the wire that goes from the battery to the alternator fixed the wire but it will crank just fine but won't start up it's a 95 cheverolet 1500 need suggestions please!

    . Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

    . Remove and test alternator--most auto parts stores will do this for free.

    . Check for codes.

    Yes, check some of the major fuses, other wires could have burnt and it may have even damaged one of the modules.

    100's of possible issues, or even several of them.

    All fuses seem fine it wouldn't be the alternator because the truck would still fire up its just cranking but not turning over

    We get a number of these situations each year. Damage to ECMs, alternators, ICMs, wiring harnesses, and sensors is often huge. Very trying and expensive to fix, in most situations.
