    Noise when starting Honda Civic 2003
    My 2003 Honda Civic makes a spinning noise when it starts. It sounds like it is coming from the front left. Eventually it goes away as I drive. If I put the breaks on, the noise goes away but resumes as soon as the breaks are let off. It is more likely to happen if I start the car and back out while turning the steering wheel. Any ideas of what this is?

    Could it be your power steering pump or CV joint? It has many earmarks of a bad CV joint. Use a large screwdriver or mechanic's stethoscope to listen to the power steering pump, to quickly identify it as the culprit.
