    Calculate heat transfer through steel
How do I calculate the heat transfer through steel if a plate is attached to another plate that is a certain temperature? Say I have a 1" plate welded to another plate that is 500 degrees. How do I determine what the temperature will be 36" down the 1" plate for the heat source plate?
