My shih tzu had a puppy two days ago, and everything seems to be going good except she has not had a bowel movement since before she had the puppy. I take her outside multiple times a day and she is urinating. She is drinking water and eating. Is there something wrong with her? Or is this normal. She is acting normally with the puppy (not leaving him and the puppy seems healthy and normal). We are getting her fixed as soon as it is healthy to do so, and we are keeping the puppy.

I think not having the bowel movement is quite normal, sammygirl, but if it goes on for another couple of days I would alert the vet and have a check up. Good for you for wanting her spayed now and keeping her puppy.
