A judement will be pursued in ca.for a 5k debt. I live in Mexico
I bought an Item for 2k with a free month no payments.During that time I lost my job and house so couldn't make the payments. The debt was turned over to a collection agency who called every 5 days for another yr. I moved to Mexico and now a resident with an FM3.Now with all the lates and penalties the debt is over 5k. The debt was turned over to an attorney in San Diego Calif. He says pay in 30 days or they will go for a judgement against me. I have no job or assets in the states. I have a bank account in San Diego where my SS auto deposits. My ex wife gets half ( spousal support) so live on $ 980 a month in poverty. What should I do? I have no money to ever pay for this. I worry about my US passport being in jeopardy. Thanks
