False eviction in Kentucky with no formal complaints
I work in the same complex we live in.me,my wife, and minor child. A resident filed a false police report on me that I harassed her. I have since filed on her for that report. I was given a 7-day eviction notice. Now a sheriff just served me with a eviction notice court date the day after tomorrow. I already lost my job over this and it is all false (I do have witnesses to the conversation I supposedly harassed her in). At this time I am scared for my family for the fact I have no income to move if I wanted too. Please help with some advice for us...

You get your witnesses and all of your evidence and show up in court to fight the eviction

    Hello d:

Even IF you didn't do it, your employer can fire you anyway. If part of your wages is a free apartment, he can take that away too.

But, once that's done, he has to treat you like any other tenant. What I mean by that, is he has to give you an opportunity to pay the balance of your rent, and if you don't/can't, he needs to give you a written 30 day notice to vacate. It doesn't look like he did that, so tell the judge, and your eviction will be dismissed.

First you need to read your lease. I suspect your lease gives them the right to terminate your tenancy on 7 days notice if you break the law. Otherwise, I doubt if they would get a court hearing so soon.

But, as noted, you go into the hearing with the documentation that have filed a claim for a false police report and for libel. Bring your witnesses. You can probably forestall the eviction assuming you can pay your rent.
