    Hi, I've been on the pill now for a month... and my boyfriend and I have now stopped using condoms... everymonth I have been getting my period on the 1st... and I haven't got it yet... I have also gotten cramps before my period and this month I haven't.. my friend thinks I might be perganate but I haven't done a test because my boyfriend told me to wait till next month.. but I feel really weird.. I'm also scared that if I am preganate that if I keep taking the pill it will hurt my baby...

    It could be from just recently starting the pill... sometimes it takes a few cycles for your body to adjust. If you think there is a chance of pregnancy, try a test... or wait until next month and see if you get your period and test at that time if need be.

    Continue to take the pill as directed... if you are pregnant, being on it for a few weeks until you know for sure won't hurt the baby.

    And you and your boyfriend did wait till you were on the pill for a full month before starting to have unprotected sex. Some types and brands of pills take a full cycle of pills to be fully effective. But your doctor should have covered that with you. Some types are more effective sooner.

    Also remember the pill is not 100 percent effective, so unless you are ready to have a child, you may wish to consider still using another form of birth control also.
