    Does my garage with a tap in it need a floor drain ?
    I am having a house built right now and I have a built in garage and inside the garage I have a Tap on the wall but no floor drain do I need one by code I think there should be one because I live innova scotia and when my car is in there the snow melting off the car has nowheres to go it's a finished garage and what happens if the tap breaks ? Or leaks ?

    Check with your local codes. In May neck of the woods a floor drain in a garage is not allowed. Reason is oils dripping off car with snow melt water etc getting onto soil

    An alternative I used on jobs is a floor drain/Trough with no outlet in it to contain oils etc but can't leach into ground. Bent that code and was approved. So check on Local Building codes in your Geo before you out one and an inspector makes you tear it out.
