A friend of mine has a red dacshaund that has a cough/ throat noise that's similar to descriptions found in the miniature schnauzer posts they had two datzuns for a while, a black and tan( Max)recently passed , severely missed but at around the age of 15 or 16 he also had the cough/ throat noise most of his life, from what I understand was an exceptionally long life for a datzun. Not to mention the vets and the expences that kept him running . Reguardess that noise he made didn't seem to effect the quality of his life,I am more than certain that they had it looked at, and found nothing to be alarmed at.that doesent mean I think anyone should stop asking. But I don't think its serious. Thankx

I;m not quite sure what you are asking thomasam... are you wondering if the cough had anything to do with the dogs passing away?

That would be a question for the vet I'm afraid. Coughing can be caused by anything from a virus/infection to a heart murmur and a dozen things in between.
