I'm fine, my mock exams are in about three weeks :)

And the final year exams will be at the end of October, till mid or end November.

Trying to revise all the things I went through since last year...

Mum and sister are okay, they're watching a local comedy right now. They're been learning some guitar... that's it as news...

Ah... freestyle... the fastest swimming style I know... but can match butterfly.

I prefer backstroke though, been my favourite, least tiring for me :)

Breathing is my problem, although it should not be if my position is correct, very frustrating!

I have some neck problems which is proving difficult of me to reach the trough of air,my reach is good, have been told my kick is strong, but something is off balance, that I cannot get into the correct position to take a breath.

Any suggestions? Or drills I can practice?

Well, when I learned, my breathing too was not so good. I was pulling my head too much off the water and this resulted in a 'disbalance'.

With time and practice, I learned to raise my head so that my mouth was just touching the surface of the water, without swallowing any of it.

You can try holding a floater with one hand and use only the other hand. At each stroke, try to raise your head just to the surface of the water. Do not try to breathe then, just in case you happen not to raise your head enough. You will breathe on 1 out of three strokes if you can, or two.

So, when you don't breathe in, try to raise your head just enough, while avoiding 'disrupting' your strokes.

It's a little difficult for me to explain this in English... :o

Might seem a little weird but I imagined an air bubble under my armput when it was coming out of the water and so pointed my head in that direction to breath when doing free style :o

Yes, in fact, if you can turn your head 90 degrees, that's fine, and if you can turn your head less than that, using the trough of the water, it's even better :)

Btw, you don't have to open your mouth like an 'O' to breathe in, you can open just the part above the water surface... a little like a 'P'.

    Lol Clough! :p

Don't take it like that... take the dead sea, you'll float there!

And if you get a good and nice teacher, I'm sure you'll learn quickly. Swimming is first a matter of floating, which becomes easy once you know what movements to do to keep afloat. From then, I'm sure that you'll want to learn diving. I so much like to go explore some of the coral reef and meet the fishes, and other animals there :)
