    Caught shoplifting in Quebec
    I just wanted to know what happened with the story I was reading regarding someone caught shoplifting at Simmons in Laval. I'm asking that because I have a similar case and am really confused and scared of what will happen to me.

    Normally ( remember judges differ, and even the attitude of the store differs ) but normally first time you ask for a diversion program, do probation, pay fines and a civil penalty to the store, and it is all over

    Or you are put on probation, pay all the fines and have a record

    What do you mean by probation here.
    If suppose it is first time and police came but and gave you verbal warning and you have to pay fine to store. Is that mine it will be in my record. As no fingerprints taken, no court date. In this what should do?
