Several things cause sewer odours in a basement.
Most of the time it is stagnant water in the floor drain.
Usually flushing cold water down the floor drain works.
Sometimes just the water drying out in the floor drain will cause the trap under the floor to dry out/. Again flushing water down the floor drain works well.
Other things are blocked vents on the roof, roots blocking the sewer as it leaves your basement, and sometimes it can be something simple like a rotten apple behind a chair.
    Hope this works
