When you say evertime the power goes out what do you mean? Do you mean every time you turn it off at the mains or every time there is a power-cut? With a lot of devices these days aren't designed to be turned off at the mains, instead just being put into standby and will lose their settings when the power is killed. Some have what is called a CMOS chip & battery which save core settings, this device could have one but the battery may have failed.

If you saying it will no longer power-on, I'm guessing then that the device has simply failed. This again could be cause by regular power-outages especially if they are power-cuts and they are incredibly bad for damaging electronics. If it won't even power-on the best thing would be to take it back to the purchase place (or email them first if ordered online), since it's only 6 months old as it should still be warranted.
